FUNimation will then invite a handful of users to participate in a September beta launch. The full-version of the site is slated to be released in October. You can sign up for the beta testing here.

On a recent episode of the

Digital Revolution: One Manga & Manga Fox
On July 22, Onemanga.com announced that they are going to remove all of their unauthorized manga scanlations. According to Alexa.com, One Manga is currently ranked 355 in the world and worth over $80 million.

After speaking to an unnamed source at a major American anime distributor, the impression was given that they aren't concerned until individuals begin to profit from the use of unauthorized work. This explains why AMVs are largely ignored and the majority of torrent and streaming sites are left unchecked. However, it's hard to ignore a site that eclipses the traffic of Crunchyroll.com and all of the major distributors combined.

The biggest unknown is what sort of effect this will have on digital manga distribution? Will onemanga.com visitors look for authorized sources or just migrate to mangafox.com, which is currently ranked 2200 in the world and valued a little under 18.5 million. These numbers make it the heir apparent once One Manga closes its doors.

We're back with more anime news. After days of waiting for an interesting news story, the Internet finally coughed up blood. Nick Simmons delivers some interesting Twitter fodder while Josh Dunham brings us some exciting news about Code Geass and Bakemonogatari. We would like to thank ANN for all of the hard work they do putting together daily news. We are not in the news business, but providing a highlight reel of topics is our small way of spreading the word.

Crunchyroll finally released their iphone application. It’s free and extends many of the popular features found on the crunchyroll.com website. The most noteworthy function is the ability to watch any of their programs in the palm of your hands.

The graphic interface is streamlined and user-friendly. If you turn the phone horizontally, a featured video slide appears. The first prompt is for your username and password. Once you’re logged in, you have four main choices: profile, videos, search and an about section. The profile section consists of both your information and guestbook.  It’s simple to reply to users using their text message style system. Meanwhile, the search function makes it easy to find any title in their extensive database. It doesn’t extend to a users search, which is kind of disappointing. Finally, the about section is your standard mission statement from the company.
