Sean’s Thoughts
It’s turning into a cliché: the constant bashing of over-sexualized series without trying to see that there is an audience that appreciates these kinds of shows. With that said, I’m turning into one of those critics. First it was Chu-Bra and now it’s this T&A-filled harem comedy. At least Chu-Bra did it blatantly and tried to work its exploitation into the cotton-thin plot. There are no redeeming qualities to this show and trust me, I looked.

Omamori Himari is humorless, overreaching and contains zero creativity. Not to mention the moaning, ear-licking, panty shots and near nipple slips. There’s little fault in sticking with a tried and true formula. The trick is finding your mark and making it stand out. Yet here, the same sight gags are reused multiple times in the first episode alone. The door opens and childhood-friend Rinko enters with her eyes closed as she makes an announcement… oops, busted! Twenty-minutes later we see the same scene, but this time she gets even. Oh Snap!
I’ve made the commitment to watch this series to the end, so hopefully things will become less predictable. If the character introduced at the end of the episode is any indication – a grade-school girl in see-through lingerie – Omamori Himari might win the prize for biggest waste of time of the season.

Summary
My tagline for this show is, from the producers of Chu-Bra comes a show that’s even worse.
