John-Paul's Thoughts

This is my first experience with the character of Cobra. I have to say that I’m a little ashamed that it took me this long to check it out. Like many classic anime franchises, this is only the most recent addition to the series.

Based on a manga by Buichi Terasawa, Cobra: The Animation is masculinity incarnate. Literally all Cobra does is smoke cigars, drink, and kill. When he isn’t doing that, he’s hitting on hot naked women and singing Christmas carols (no joke). In fact, Cobra is so manly that he actually manages to SMOKE A CIGAR UNDERWATER!

I can’t tell if storyline from the first two episodes is going to span to whole series yet, so I’m going to try not to spoil too much. All you need to know is that Cobra fights a robot bull mummy who is under the order of Alexander the Great with a gas mask on. And before I forget to mention—Cobra has a gun for a hand.

Summary

This show is totally sweet. I can’t say for certain whether the female demographic will agree, but there are no girls on the Internet anyway, so it’s safe to assume that only men will be reading this. If you still don’t get it, this picture should help you understand my feelings on the new Cobra anime.
