Review by: Jd Banks Director:  Hiraku Kaneko Animation Production:  Taki Corporation   Synopsis At St. Mikhailov Academy, students, Mafuyu Oribe and Tomo Yamanobe find a strange silver-haired boy after the dean’s mysterious disappearance. When a woman attacks Mafuyu looking for an icon on their campus grounds, the boy saves our heroine. Unfortunately, the boy is a Qwaser with the power to manipulate electrons, and he’s not interested in making friends.

Jd’s Thoughts

Seikon no Qwaser is so awkward and hooker-cheap, it makes me wonder how other, better anime couldn’t have made it this far in development. Sure it resurrects Allen Walker from D. Gray-man (in character design only natch), but it fails at everything else.

It’s hard to make any sense of the story since the direction here is awful. In some scenes, only moans and squeals and blushed cheeks give any clues before the rest of the scene unfolds into more bizarre territory. Even the more realistic moments, such as girls arguing and people being catty without superpowers, are confusing. Throughout, all I could keep saying was “What the hell?”

Yet for all of the typical fan service of big breasts and panties, this series is about fighting in the name of God. In the tradition of shonen fighting shows, Seikon no Qwaser characters use energy dubbed Soma…and, as  it comes from breast milk. A strong protagonist who receives powers from breast milk reinforces the idea that this anime is little better than one night with a prostitute. Seikon no Qwaser isn’t worth your time.

Summary

Seikon no Qwaser is not recommended for your health and it does not encourage physical development.
