Pocky! Happy Anniversary!

It has various tastes, and when teeth descend upon its pretzel center, it makes a distinct sound: “pokki”! Thanks to its appearance in anime and manga, Pocky’s inception into the anime world has made the Glico-brand snack a staple at any anime party.

Pocky was created in 1963 as one of the first chocolate snacks that could be eaten while walking. It was first called “Tech chocolate” before it was changed to “Pocky chocolate” because of the sound it makes when eaten. In 1971, the Almond Pocky flavor was made, and more flavors such as green tea, strawberry, and milk have been added.
