Season One, Episode 4, What's Hot on Anime Blogs. In this week's episode, the Anime 3000 panel discusses various topics that are being heavily discussed on anime blogs. Central Park Media has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. What impact will this have on the anime community? Warner Borther's Studio is adapting Death Note into a live-action movie. Will we see a repeat of Dragon Ball: Evolution? It's been a few weeks since we discussed the new season of anime. Have our opinions changed in regards to Basquash and K-ON!. And finally, we have the great Moe! versus Lolicon debate. The Crain's Business News Source announced that Central Park Media has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. They will effectively close there doors as of May 4, 2009. Various bloggers have voiced their opinions regarding this announcement. CPM is responsible for a number of popular 90s series and movies. Grave of the Fireflies, Slayers, Demon City Shinjuku, and Record of Lodoss War to name a few. They even released several manga that included Slayers and Comic Party. With their uncermonious closing, what impact will this have on the anime community?
Notes: I was surprised with the personal testimonies of Michael and John-Paul. You will get a lesson about CPM and get some powerful insight about John O'Donnell, the creator of Central Park Media.

Warner Brothers plan to adapt Death Note into a live action Hollywood film. With the recent flop of Dragon Ball: Evolution, are fans of the popular series doomed to see Light and L die from tinsel town obscurity? What expectations do you have for this 2010 film?
Notes: We mention Zach Efron, the Marvel Universe and eventually evolve the conversation to talk about the differences between Japanese and American audiences. This was probably the richest conversation had on the entire program.

A few week's have passed since our new season of anime episode. With a few more episodes underneath the belt of various series, it's time to revist a few shows and see if there are any varying opinons. These shows include Basquash and K-ON!
Notes: This is a rehash of an old topic, but due to the overwhelming popularity of these shows, we are bringing them back. Everyone chimes in and gives us their unabashed take on K-ON! and Basquash. I used the opportunity to finally call out John-Paul on his fake disgust over K-ON! and Michael continues his praise (fanboy.com) over Basquash.

I really liked the live actions Death Notes movies in Japan becuase they trimmed the fat from the Death Note manga and made me like the story better.
Then again when we see Emo L's love triangle with Cheerleader Misa Misa and Preppy Kira and it hurts so hard it hurts your children I won't be surprised.
Moe is just crazy and hard to get your head around. I think the Japanese have a hard time wrapping their heads around moe just as much as we do. There are so many factors that make it hard get a good grasp on it all.
Lolicon is just wrong.
