Battle Royale 3D Conversion
Anyone remember the awful Battle Royale live-action film that simultaneously ignored the social commentary of the novel while glorifying the violence? Apparently Toei loves that movie so much that they've decided that it needed a 3D conversion.

Battle Royale, written by Koushun Takami, is the story of 42 high school students who are trapped on an island and forced to kill each other until only one remains. It's an allegorical tale about Japanese students and the constant pressure they're under to succeed. The book is phenomenal and should be read by everyone. The movie, on the other hand, is okay as a standalone gore-flick, but it doesn't hold a candle to the real story. However, it can be said that it's 9000 times better than the manga adaptation.

Kelly Sheridan, the voice actress who plays Sango, recently posted on her Facebook and Twitter accounts that she began recording this past Tuesday. I usually find it annoying when reporters use social networking sites as a source, but let's be honest with ourselves--this is not real journalism.
