Animeshon S2 Ep14 - Busting the Mecha Gun
This episode is literally hot off the press. Recorded, edited, and posted all in the same day, not to mention that I finished watching the review anime in the same day as well. That anime in question is Gunbuster, a short little show from GAINAX. Since last recording my Snap Judgements has been posted (and is soon to be updated), as well as Battle of the Koma!!! on A3KTV. Anime Expo 2010
As always when looking forward to anime expo you hope to see wild and crazy cosplayers, great atmosphere, awesome sneak peeks into the world of anime, and above all a time you'll never forget. This years expo was not a total down fall to the ideas mention but it had its highs and low points. On day one the Los Angeles Covention Center in down town la was packed you could see Pokemon trainers from side to side with there poke walkers meeting up with luffies, pyros, spys, and many other costume crusaders. the lines moved slow but where filled with noise awaiting the start of this years Ax. The Exhibit hall was packed to a size where it seemed like you were stuck in the la trying to get off the 10 freway before goin to work but you could hear the sellers yell. Hallways were filled and the game room bustled with noise. It was a great beginning to Ax 2010
Now as far as the awesomeness goes right before anime expo was open Arcade Infinity stepped in and gave us a much needed arcade that was small but considerate to the taste of the crowds with fighting games, para para paradise and ddr al around. they didnt use as much room as the could have for the area given but given that AI , arcade Infinity, is it self a small arcade it still bran the masses. As well the Console Gaming room had the like of Super street fighter 4, Super smash bros Brawl, tekken 6, and a few games most wouldn't be familiar with, the size of the room was considerate and never fully packed just the lines for the games were , but then again with all the brawl fans shouting " Your To Slow" i don't think that will every change. The Panels weren't all that great this year not to many thing to look forward to a new season of black lagoon a over hyped voice Actor. I can tell you know its from a series that needs alot of revamping ... Cough COUGh bleach Cough lol but there was also the announcement of Durarara, which is about Mikado Ryugumine who longs for the big city life and transfer to ikebukuro, tokyo at the invitation of his longtime friend Masaomi which Aniplex has license the right to and will be airing in the US soon. Aniplex Also gave Showings of the first and second Gurren Lagan movies , Childhood's End and The Lights In The Skys Are Stars, which where given a shocking reaction one of the best all expo long as well as the japanese voice actor Mr. Katsuyuki Konishi, the voice of Kamina in the Gurren Lagan Series and movies, visited for his first time to the US and watched the screenings with us and the hype of this series is not something that was far out of its reach. It's story spans across a general life time before ending in a beautiful array of love and loss.
Animeshon Podcast Season 2 Episode 12
With everyone heading off to AX, I sat alone and talked to myself for an hour and reviewed a classic. Exciting huh? Not to worry, while you’re out on the con floor, or stuck in a boring panel pop this episode in. Big thanks to the ADD for letting me be part of the team, so do them justice and go visit their site. I take a little bit of a look back at my brief history as a podcaster, which is funny since I’ve been around for little more than a year now.
Animeshon Podcast Season 2 Episode 11
As you can probobly notice, I have a bit of a cold, so don’t be surprised when you start listening if you hear James Earl Jones in place of my sultry, voluptuous voice that you’re all used to. Recording New vs Old episodes I realized that I didn’t know as much I would like about older anime and manga, so thus, with that inspiration, I started going back to build up my knowledgebase, thus I give you a review of Go Nagi’s manga, Devilman. And since there’s such a foul stench in the air with recent news of OneManga’s success, I wanted to give some solid facts, and some possibilities as to the future of the site. Anime Expo 2010:Final Thoughts
I'm still very tired from the Anime Expo but I think I can dig deep for another blog entry. The videos and pictures should be up soon. I have to edit the cosplay videos so they will fit on youtube. I will do that tomorrow so expect the vids to go live sometime in the evening. I already uploaded the the photos to my Flickr account. My user name is Manicmanz so just search for it and you should find it.
This year's expo made me realize just how much I want to cosplay. I really loved how most people's costumes looked on them and I wanted to be part of the culture. I felt like I was missing out on all the fun because I didn't dress up. So next expect to see your pal LaMar dressed up in an awesome costume.
All in all the convention was just plain awesome. My only complaints stems from the weaboo fans that I encountered. Every anime that was played had to be played in subtitles. Now that's not a huge deal but I do have a problem when some of the better dubed version of shows were shafted because of these super nerds. They act like Anime and the Japanese language are so sacred that dubs tarnish the shows so much to the point that they become unwatchable. This may be the truth for some dubs like OnePiece (4kids) and Robotech: The Macross Saga but stuff like Hellsing Ultimate should be in english. I'm sorry but the Japanese suck at speaking in British and German accents so I prefer the dub. I'm sure the debate between dubs and subs will range on forever but I think we can all agree that sometimes we aren't in the mood for subs and just want to enjoy the action on screen.
AnimeExpo2010 is gonna kill me
Well, I finally have the time to make a blog entry. My friends and I have been coming back so late that I have been crashing out before I could even turn on my laptop. I'm sorry about being lazy but I plan to redeem myself with this blog. Day 3 of AX2010 has just concluded and this day is by far the best. The amount of fans I saw today was astounding and the hype level was off the charts.
So many awesome events went down today. The Indecent Otaku Comedy show was great and even though I didn't win any prizes the show was still entertaining. Especially Danny Choo aka "The Tokyo Trooper" he was the highlight of the show for me. My favorite part was when he told us to not hide our love of Anime; "If people don't accept your hobbies and you change to fit there standards you're only harming yourself." Personally that struck a cord with me because I don't really have many friends with the same hobby as me. So when I mention I watch anime I get a variety of responses but most of the time it is negative. Danny helped me to realize that if you are really passionate about something then you do it for yourself. Just ignore all the haters and be happy. Life is too short to be caught up in what other people think.
Another highlight of the con was the Gurren Lagann movies. Aniplex was kind enough to show both movies back to backand premier the second movie "The Lights in the sky are Stars" 3 weeks before it's released Stateside. Sure that sounds good and all but it got even better when Kamina's Voice actor Katsuyuki Konishi showed up. He came out on stage in full Kamina attire with both the the cape and glasses. Needless to say all of the fanboy swe pleased.I recorded the most of the event so expect to see some footage. It may not be the best but it is better than nothing.

Fierce Anime

One of the fiercest anime that I ever watched is Hunter x Hunter.... Look at that picture! Awesome, isn't it? Oh here's more
Hello All
Well today I was introduce to the site thanks to my friend LaMar Holley after some rounds of playing some Street Fighter 3: Third Strike and so far I have to say it pretty good. Not much to say about my self other than I'm a big music, video game, and anime/manga lover. Nowadays I tend to read manga and listen to music then watching anime, for it something about manga seems more pure in my opinion. Anyways I digress and I hope to be come a contributing member to the community. >:3
