This one I have to say, I absolutely loved. The story started out a little confusing I thought, but after the first couple episodes, I was hooked. To delve right in, Mizuho Kazami comes to teach at a Japanese school and everyone is abuzz with it because she is a woman for one, and also young and pretty. Now the anime twist; she’s an extraterrestrial on a mission for her planet to observe Earth. Yeah, read that twice if you want. But the good thing is she has no gross tentacles or anything like that, completely normal (whew).

However, when she teleports out of her ship, she is seen by a local school boy, Kei Kusanagi, who believes that night to be a dream, until he sees her in the classroom the next morning and they both recognize each other. Long story short, she is living next door to Kei, but soon he starts living with her because they have to get married! So basically, they were caught in a lie used to get out of trouble and the marriage is the result. But, Kei’s friends aren’t supposed to know, so hilarity ensues.

Kei and Mizuho begin to learn more about each other as the story progresses, and there’s feelings on both sides, but neither can confront them. But jealous scenario’s come into play, the almost-caught situations, and the ever-present “aww” moments. It’s so great.

There are plenty of support characters that we learn about as well, all with their own situations, funny, happy, sad, and romantic. But the character of interest is Kei. He has this sickness which he calls being ‘stuck’ or known as ‘withdraw’. Basically, when he feels something really strong, mainly sad things, he faints, and when he wakes up is up to him. He is in a class in high school with 15 year olds, but he is actually 18 from when he first withdrew and didn’t wake up for three years. The reason for that I’m not going to tell you, but whoa, wasn’t expecting it.

There are plenty of teasers revealing little bits of background along the way, and when you find out the whole story…well my reaction was, “What the hell?! Ohhh……” At any rate, this anime’s main theme I would characterize under love and romance, but has plenty of comedic moments. Heh, wait till you see the episodes where Mizuho’s mother and younger sister come to visit.

You’ll follow right along with the character development and watch relationships grow in all different ways. Lol, I love Mizuho and Kei’s honeymoon episode. Anywho, Another wonderful happy anime, and happy is always best. If you don’t always have a happy beginning, may you have a happy ending. Later days.
