| Genres: Comedy, Drama, Romance, Science Fiction, Slice of Life This is the second installment of the popular Onegai Teacher. The main character of this storyline is Kamishiro Maiku who lost his parents and is living alone writing computer code for some company (not really important). The other two main characters are Miyafuji Miina and Onodera Karen. Who show up on Kamishiro’s doorstep on the same day, both claiming to be his long lost sister. Yay the drama begins. Okay, well Kamishiro has a picture from his childhood of him and another girl in a little kiddy pool outside this house they used to live in. He was soon separated from the ‘sister’ in this picture and now he came back to his home town and is renting out the house in the picture in hopes he would be reunited with her. So lo and behold, two girls show up, completely opposite, and both have a copy of this picture. Three pictures, two people in it…..? On a side note, how are these high school kids affording to live on their own and then random cute girls show up and start living with you?! Okay, rant over. So Kamishiro being the nice guy he is, he concludes that one of them must be his sister and therefore he can’t kick them out because he doesn’t know which one is his real sister. Oh and conveniently, the girl had a hat on in the picture so you can’t tell by their hair, and getting a blood test is too expensive for them. And thus, the three live together. Now, the fun parts. If you’ve seen Onegai Teacher, you know the scenarios are hilarious, this follow-up series keeps right on with the hilarity. And the characters from Onegai Teacher come back in this series as well (Yay!), as well as plenty new ones. Kamishiro is pretty shy and keep to himself type of guy, so now he has two girls hanging on him all the time vying for his attention and the girls compete with each other off an on, but the fact that they may be his sister usually prevents them from doing anything…you know. (Wow you’re girlfriend’s cute! She may be my sister. Okay gross?) But humor fills most of this series and has plenty of romantic, drama-ee, cute, funny moments to keep you smiling and some sadder ones as the story progresses, but by that point you just want your happy ending anyway. Yes there is a happy ending to this one too. There’s a few surprises and plot twists that makes the storyline well-rounded as well. All in all, excellent sequel to Onegai Teacher, and a fun anime to laugh and giggle along with. Later days ani-mae fans! -Kyo- |
