Review*Ichigo 100% by Joe Di Benedetto (Spike Spiegel) Animation by Madhouse Creator: Kawashita Mizuki |

| Ichigo 100% is your prototypical high school romantic comedy based on the Shonen Jump manga. The show follows Manaka Junpei and his escapades with the girls at school. It all starts when Junpei encounters a beautiful stranger on the roof of the school, and catches a glimpse of her strawberry panties. The girl was so embarrassed and ran away before Junpei could learn her identity. It was at that moment when Junpei fell in love with this stranger, and his quest to find the girl with the strawberry panties began. Junpei didn’t want to find the stranger just for love, but also to reenact his encounter on the roof on film for his movie. Junpei wishes to become a filmmaker, and he believed that this encounter would make the perfect scene. His search for his dream girl leads to a love triangle with Toujou and Nishino. There are plenty of humorous moments, but this series is heavy on the romance and of course fan service. The animation is helmed by Madhouse Studios, who have also worked on Beck and Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi. The animation is pretty standard though, but to be honest the series does not allow for a chance for the animation to stand out. If you liked Love Hina or other anime series similar to it, Ichigo 100% would be a great new anime series to watch. |
